AM Gunners maintained at the top. Yesterday, AM Gunners were made to work hard against a competent side LLRC FT before registering a morale boosting 2-1 victory. Goals from Ak Anaqi and Md Isa of AM Gunners sealed the victory while LLRC FT’s substitute Md Shah Hafiz scored the consolation.
The first half was a slightly dull affair but it was LLRC FT who had the better chances. Hj Annuar had a great opportunity but his effort was slight wide after great pressure by Nicolas of AM Gunners. Md Azri had a snap shot outside the box but his effort went over the bar. AM Gunners did have chances of their own but it didn’t trouble Md Adid in goal. Both side went into the break with no goals scored.
The second half proved more entertaining. Ak Md Azrul of LLRC FT could have scored the goal of the day but his unexpected cross shaved off the corner of the goal and out to safety. AM Gunners were sloppy in midfield as they keep losing possession when it mattered the most. But their constant attacking paid off nonetheless when LLRC FT’s captain Md Bahrin handled the ball inside the penalty box. Md Faizul of AM Gunners rued a penalty chance after Md Adid parried the shot but Ak Anaqi pounced in the rebound to break the deadlock in the 62nd minute.
