AM Gunners gunned down by LLRC FT. Md Azri Jebri and Md Shah Hafiz of LLRC FT were a constant threat to AM Gunners all night long. LLRC FT pushed AM Gunners to the limit by coming back from behind to beat AM Gunners 3-2 in the DST Brunei League Cup at the Belapan Field. AM Gunners who fielded almost second string players had the earlier lead in the first half when they were awarded a penalty and Md Faizul Ambotang converted the spot kick

in the 34th minute for a 1-0 lead. AM Gunners could have pocketed their second goal thru another penalty but HRH Prince Abdul Mateen squandered the opportunity from six yards.

In the second half, LLRC FT controlled possession and constantly pressured AM Gunners. Their efforts paid off when Md Arzi Jebri scored after outpacing the AM Gunners defence and scored the equalising goal. It seemed AM Gunners’ luck were on their prior to the goal as Bakthiar of AM Gunners was superb in goal, saving three one-on-one situations from Md Shah Hafiz and Md Khairul Azri. Soon after LLRC FT gained the lead through Md Azri yet again to make it 2-1. LLRC FT’s substitute Hj Annuar Seidil scored the third goal to make it 3-1 in the 78th minute. Md Nazlee gave some hope to AM Gunners when he beat the offside trap and scored late in the game but LLRC FT held till the final whistle.

In the other matches, Brunei Shell FT beat Kilanas FC 3-2. The quarter-final draw will shape like this - LLRC FT vs Wijaya FC, Brunei Shell FT vs QAF FC, ABDB vs NBT FC and AH United vs Jerudong FC.
